Chroma 8" Professional Bread Knife
Slicing perfect pieces of bread requires a special blade. The Chroma P06 Type 301 8.5“ Bread Knife has multiple teeth along the edge of the knife to bite through tough exteriors of foods like breads, pastries, tomatoes, and more. These teeth can easily cut through the outside of foods without damaging or flattening the interior.
Crafting a perfect blade requires a lot of attention to detail. Chroma enlisted the help of F.A. Porsche and Jörg Wörther to come up with a functional yet attractive knife. High-quality Japanese 301 steel comprises the blade while stainless-steel makes up the handle of the 20.9cm knife. To separate the blade from the handle, a unique metal “pearl” is inlayed in the knife. This “pearl” also gives you better control while you use the knife.
Chroma Type 301 Knives must be hand washed after every use. Never place these knives in the dishwasher, as it could damage and dull the blade. A dull knife blade is the single most common cause of knife related injury in the kitchen. Type 301 Knives should only be sharpened using the original Type 301 whetstone. Using a sharpening steel could damage the blade. To help maintain the edge of your knife only use wooden or plastic cutting boards. It is recommended that Type 301knives be sharpened daily when used in a professional setting, and about every six months for hobby cooks. Serrated blades require special sharpening; it is recommended a certified professional sharpen these knives.
